Tea-Party!

Dave's Grandma Connie throws a granddaughter's tea-party every year for all the girls in the family.  This was my first tea-party. :)  She goes all out planning the tea-party pretty much all year long and bakes yummy treats for like 3 days straight.  It was fabulous. We ate treats, played games with fun prizes, ate treats again, chit-chatted, received some surprises, ate more treats... it was a great day.
This year had a theme of Alice in Wonderland's "Mad-Hatter's Tea-Party."  It was a fun idea. There was a crazy hat contest and this is what the Bailey girls all wore.  It was so much fun!
From left-to-right we have:
Anna-- the "unbirthday girl." She actually didn't mind wearing it either!
Linda-- her hat was made of cards (Dave made it-- impressive huh?)
Me-- from the caterpillar that had the Chinese lanterns (from Taiwan)
Lauren-- She had a tea-party on her hat! So funny!
Kiley-- Her's was awesome-- it looked like it was made out of bubbles. :)
Tasha-  Her's won the contest. It had a "painting the roses red" theme.

Dave's Fly-Fishing Passion

Dave has found a new passion-- fly fishing.  He has gotten so into it lately.  For his birthday he got a new Sage rod that he puts above the mantel on our bed.  I even caught him giving it a kiss goodnight one night!  I just laugh.  I actually love this new hobby of his. I have went with him a few times and just sit and watch from the bank. It's so relaxing for both of us.  This is a big one that he caught at Henry's Fork a few weeks ago.

Easter 2009

Well, we finally got a week long break from school and work and everything else stressful in life. So we took the time to visit my family.  We hadn't been down to my house since Christmas break, so it was good to hang out with the family again. We did pretty much everything--rode four-wheelers, shot guns, painted and rolled easter eggs, ate way too much good food, watched movies, played games till we couldn't take anymore...  It was a great week!
This picture is sort of a tradition.  We always jump at the top of the rolling hill. My dad has become quite professional at snapping the photo at just the right time--years of practice I guess.  Millie is in this photo.  We LOVE taking her with us because she chases our eggs down the hill, picks them up in her mouth, then buries them in the sand! It is so funny to watch. She does it EVERY year.  I just love that goofy dog. :)
Easter Eggs... I have to admit, mine and Dave's were probably the ugliest this year.  We spent a total of five minutes on ours while everyone else spent at least an hour because we were visiting Janel and Karl. Oh well. We just rolled them down a hill anyway!

Sitting on top of the hill getting ready to roll our easter eggs.  It was a whole new experience for Wes and something Dave still hasn't come to fully comprehend.  But we love it!

Dave and I got all muddy on the four-wheeler riding in the hills. It was so cold so Dave wouldn't let me stay outside to help wash it off either. So he spent like 30 minutes in the cold spraying the clay and mud off by himself. He is so sweet. :)

I'm Pregnant!

Well, life happens fast, and here we are 8 months into our marriage and 2 months pregnant!  We are very excited though.  About a month before I knew I was pregnant, my brother-in-law McKay, spread a rumor about me on facebook that I was pregnant.  I denied it, set it clear that I was not pregnant, and thought that would be the end of it.  Well... a month later when I did turn up pregnant, it was like the little boy who cried wolf.  At first no one believed me. So I had to take a picture of the test to prove it!

This is a picture of our first ultrasound last Friday.  Dave and my dad's first words were, "It looks like a guinea pig!"  Thanks a lot boys-- no, we are not having a guinea pig!  The ultrasound was really neat because we got to hear it's little heartbeat. We could actually see it's heart beating which was a cool experience.  It's sort of hard to see it here, but it already has little arms and legs and at the doctors office we got a good image of it's little webbed hands.  I was amazed at how active the little fetus is!  The whole time we were watching it, it was wiggling and moving and stretching.  It was so crazy!  We really have a little human-being growing in there! The doctor said, "I think you have a little athlete on your hands!" That made Dave happy. : )

The Reception

The wedding turned out so beautiful! About an hour before the wedding it started raining and we started to worry that we would have to move it inside, but the whole town rallied together and rounded up a whole bunch of canopies.  Right as we got them all up... the rain stopped. Go figure.
These were our centerpieces. We had bright colors and flowers everywhere.  Although Lana and I have different taste in some things, the combination turned out so fun and such a memorable day for everyone.
I wish I had a picture of our cakes together; they were so different, which highlighted our personalities and made the reception so fun and unique.  Mine was round and more elegant, and hers was square with bright pink and green poka-dots. We got matching garters except for one was green and one was pink-- we had a lot of fun with all of it. ; )
